Virgin Rail

We provided Virgin Rail with long-term demographic and economic projections for local authorities and urban areas in England, Scotland and Wales for the period up to 2027.

For Scottish Widows we provided an assessment of the demographic and economic implications of an ageing society in the UK.

Dudley Council

For Dudley Council we advised on the economic and financial implications of the creation of a local enterprise zone (offering business rate incentives) at a key business park location in the Borough.

City and Guilds

For City and Guilds we assessed the potential economic impacts of the ‘Million Extra’ modern apprenticeships campaign, in terms of the impacts on individual trainees, their employers and the UK economy as a whole.

Visa Europe

For Visa Europe we undertook an economic impact assessment of the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics on the UK economy and its regions.

Wrexham Council

For Wrexham Council, we provided a detailed assessment of the economic impact of a new piece of strategic highways infrastructure, and we provided expert witness evidence at the planning inquiry.

Women’s Royal Voluntary Service

For WRVS we undertook a detailed economic assessment of the economic contribution of the over 65s to the UK economy, in terms of their wok, their volunteering, their spending and the taxes they pay.

BP and Perenco

For BP and Perenco we undertook a detailed economic assessment of proposed additional investment in the Wytch farm oilfield in Dorset.


For Veolia we assessed the likely aggregate future costs to small business in the UK arising from landfill tax on commercial and industrial waste.

Morning Foods

For Morning Foods, we estimated the current and potential future contribution of this food manufacturing business to the local and national economy.


For O2, in 2013 we estimated the future need for digital skills in the UK economy, and the numbers of digitally skilled young people required by 2017.

Kier Group

For Kier Group we provided economic impact evidence in support of an application for a large cinema and leisure scheme located in the Black Country.


We have undertaken six research projects for Barclays, including sector based studies focusing on UK manufacturing, the UK leisure and hospitality sector, UK agriculture and the contribution to the UK economy of small and medium sized businesses.
